Pressrun related too profitability, how ink and environment impact of it?

[Digest] Level of printing-plate pressrun related to production benefits directly, but also it is an important condition to reduce production costs, improve yields, ensure printing quality. The main influence factor about gravure inks and enviroment to the pressrun of plate cylinder: Viscosity of ink, drying speed, hard sand, dust and other impurities, ension of ink and other reason of chemical factors, analyzing these factors below.

1. Viscosity of ink and drying speed

For scraping the excess ink from the plate cylinder surface, scraper have to penetrate the ink film, so you need to circle large pressure when large viscosity.So reducing the viscosity of ink as possible, which reducing pressure of scraper.

Besides, if the ink too drying,which will cause the frictional force between the plate cylinder and the scraper increasing. It will influence on the life of the plate cylinder. And if enviroment too humid, it will cause dispersion of ink become wrose, it can't easy to shave the plate cylinder, and the result is the pressure have to increase and it will cause the frictional force increase.

2. Hard sand, dust and other impurities

If there are hard particles in the ink, it will be scratched when scraping the plate cylinder with hard particles, the small affect the printing quality, the serious afect is causing the plate cylinder scrapped. Besides,other impurity of substrate surface are easy sneaking into the ink, and with a long time accumulate, it is easily cause damage to the plate cylinder, so it is necessary try to keep clean of the substrates and inks length. In order to remove the foreign matter, it can insert metal mesh filter in the tank of ink or the ink circulatory system constantly. Regardless of falling into the ink or attach in the plate cylinder of the environmental dust,which still damage the blade and the layout

directly.

The impurities in the ink, coarse particles and foreign matter mainly caused byfollowing factors:

(1) It will cause coarse particles if ink mixed with foreign matter or ink additives precipitation and agglomerated pigment varies with temperature.

(2) The film bring in department foreign matter. The film attach dust for electrostaic and more precipitation of the film,when additives into the ink, it will form foreign matter. Especially when the workshop too dry, it is easily absorp dust for electrostaic, and causing impact on the life of plate cylinder.

(3) Hardness of pigment, even if it may cause knife line for mixing. Such as red, blue ink and other pigment used hardly, and easy cause knife lines.

(4) Drying System inhalation of outside dust or without cleaning for long periods of air duct.

3. Ension of ink

Some of ink as black ink which aggress the plate cylinder, so it should cleaned after using in time.

4. Chemical factors

Adding a mount of active agent in the productiong process of ink. If activity of the ink or plate cylinder too excessive.The active material will adhered on the plate cylinder firmly in the printing procession, and it is difficult to scraped off completely, so it have to increase pressure of scraper, and the result is affect the life of the plate cylinder. After cleaning the plate cylinder and removing the actived material of the plate cylinder in this time, it can add special mitigating agent in the ink, and with a remarkable effect. If adding mitigating agent on surface before printing, it can play a prevention role.
